Once again I find myself packing up to move. This time only a few miles away to a smaller apartment. What to keep and what to get rid of?? This is the question. I've had 4 years to work on sorting through memorabilia and it didn't happen. Except that I did go through hundred of photos a couple of years back. Still haven't gotten to my slides. Doing the work of sorting through our lives takes muscle. Muscle in the brain really. If the brain doesn't start it, it just won't happen. I'm learning that from being under the gun to do it. If there is a gun to our heads we will start the process. I hate to use that term because I'm so against guns, but it does do the trick. So, how do we overcome the resistance to get things done if we are not pressured to do it? I just don't know the answer to that one. I know it has something to do with muscle. As I'm now forced to pack up and declutter, it's starting to get easier. I start to see distinctions and ways through that I didn't see before. I will hopefully learn from this and incorporate changes into my journey ahead so I can continue to sort, process, discard, and create as I move forward from here.
